The only Vista compatible VMS or VMSP is version 8

i was eventually able to get both vms 6 and dvd-a 3 installed but after the dvd-a install, i shut the machine down and started it up again later which is when i got an error starting Windows where it had to go through this whole repair process to fix itself. i haven't tried rebooting since but i'm curious if dvd-a had something to do with it.

after getting past that initial startup problem, it seems that vms 6.0 runs just fine under Vista (can do editing and make movie). at least so far. still have to play with dvd-a..

vms 6 seems to be ok but dvd-a 3 seems to have some major problems. not only does it take a seemingly long time to start up but Make Movie causes a hang. looks like i'll have to upgrade after all.
