60 cycle hum

I just got two hi-8 video tapes to be put on dvd. These are both video of a speaker doing a seminar. One tape is good, but the other has about 60 minutes of a loud ac hum. It sounds like the guy taping had a bad or no ground on the mike. Equalizer doesn't do enough to get rid of it. I can get rid of pops, scratches etc, but not this hum. Any suggestions. Most software I found on the net don't do 60 cycle hum.

I'm using Win xp pro and Vegas 10d.

If you can't afford the iZotope Rx, there's probably other options with what you already have. Can you post an audio clip somewhere? (Dropbox or YouTube for instance) We can give you more precise suggestions if we can actually hear it.
What EQ plug-in did you try?

I downloaded iZotope RX and one click solved the problem. Hum is now completely gone. I've been away from editing for some time and have to get back in the swing. This program works well, but for the amount of use it would get, it is expensive. When I get chance, and remember how to do it, I'll post a clip for you. Thanks much.
