60p recorded footage to Blu-Ray - Best Settings?

Having some questions about the optimal project settings. I recorded a project with a Panasonic TM700 (at 1080p -60fps) and with a GoPro Hero 3 (also at 1080p - 60 fps). I set up a project file with the same settings and edited the video just fine and a test render of a 720p MP4 Mainconcept file looks great.

Now, I want to create an m2v file for a blu-ray version. Is it better to change the project settings to a 1920 x 1080 60i setting before rendering out the m2v file or does it matter at all? -- I have some still images (with a zillion topographic map lines) which can create some bad shimmering artifacts when panning across them which I want to avoid in any blu-ray render.

Thanks,

Mike

The project interlace settings do not affect the output.
The render settings control that.
Your stills should be at least as large as your output.

When rendering for Blu-ray, you have the option of rendering 1280x720-60p or 1920x1080-60i. I'll assume you aren't going to render to 1920x1080-24p.

For fast action, I might choose 1280x720-60p and keep the frame rate you shot. You'll have to create your own custom template starting with the Sony AVC/MVC 1920x1080-24p template.

Change Frame Size: High Definition 1280x720
Frame Rate: 59.940 (Double NTSC)
Bit Rate: 21,999,616

Save as a custom name.

If you need the fine detail for your stills, the Sony AVC/MVC Blu-ray 1920x1080-60i template may work better for you. You can always increase the bit rate to 21,999,616.

Also, look at the MainConcept templates.

My blu-ray render turned out great - I did de-interlace a number of the still images that had a lot of horizontal topographic lines and they were clean on the blu-ray file. (without de-interlace switch turned on there was minimal artifact but I really wanted zero artifact).

I'm continually impressed with the BD output of Vegas. The video quality is amazing on playback.

I'm wondering why you would have artifacts on your stills. Interlaced render or is it aliasing from enlarging the stills?
