64 bit vegas refuses 32 bit plugins and codecs?

Hi, hope this is a common problem.
while editing with 8.0c 32 bit and Canopus HQ codec clips+ Raylight mxf codec+mercalli plugin installed on 64 bit machine, I decided to step up on vegas 8.1, but even re-installing them, none of the above plugins or codecs are recognized anymore by 64 bit version..Why?
Is this regarding the application's 64 bit architecture that perhaps need 64 bit versions of these plugins too?
am I forced to wait for some upgrade of this third party product, or there is no chance to make Vegas recognize these plugins correctly?
I think could happend on other third party stuff too...
At this time I downgraded to 32 bit version again, to continue work..
Hope in some reply.
thanks

Use the search function of the forum and you will find several threads on this very topic. The short answer is that until programs are modified to 64 bit (or 32 bit that are coded for 64 bit) they will not work.

You can have both the 8.0c and 8.1 versions installed at the same time. Currently, there are only a few plugins that will work in v8.1. I am only using v8.1 for those projects that can be done using only the tools built-in to v8.1 itself.

The forum moderator should add this information to the "sticky" that has 8.0c and 8.1 as a topic.
