I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that Vegas 7d is (to my knowledge) for the first time accessible to the non-English user, with the choice of four languages, English, French, German or Japanese.
This is new (and good news too) !

"Dude, Vista released over a month ago."
Dude - give it up on that RTM DVD that came out in Nov. Vista gets "released" on Jan 30. Anything that you have in your hands (while the RTM release) is still not supported. Until Sony's system requirements actually state that Vista is supported - it is nothing more that a beta OS - and from what I have heard thus far - behaves exactly like a beta OS as well.
You can't even get working sound card drivers for most of the pro cards out there so why bother?
"Of course but Sny hasnt even issued a statement as to when Vista will be supported. Right now, not many people consumers even have their hands on Vista thus not requiring an updated version. That all chnages in 10 days when the mass public can and will start buying Vista."
I have yet to test v7d, but I can tell you that it's likely you will have problems with Vegas Media Manager on Vista. MM uses MSDE.

"Important Note: Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) will not be supported on the Microsoft Vista operating system. If you plan to build an application and redistribute a database with it, you should consider using SQL Server 2005 Express Edition instead. For more information, see the Running SQL Server on Windows Vista page on microsoft.com. "
That's because MSDE is a beast. Powerful, but terribly inefficient. Of course, how many more years will they all be laughing at Linux, I'm still waiting for that release :)
