The commercial buy-up of the 700MHz band was purely speculative. It will be a decade before there is any serious traffic. If you look at the allocation you will see that it was not done in the interest of emergency communications.

Unfortunately, the FCC will be monitoring those frequencies, and if you are a fixed installation, eventually there will be a letter.

There's a thread about some of these issues titled Today's FCC press on the rec.arts.movies.production.sound newsgroup.

Guys, we are talking about transmitters with a 100mw output. You would have to have an FCC employee as a guest at the wedding. Reception is another matter. Small joke.

Makes wireless mics obsolete at less money!!:

Plug a lavaliere into it's mic jack.... use Pluraleyes to sync... voila a more reliable replacement for wireless mics at less cost!

The non licensed chanels in the uK will still be available for use

The deregulated band 863 – 865 MHz will be available throughout Europe for wireless microphones, license free. In this very small frequency band it is possible to run 3 - 4 wireless microphones simultaneously, depending on the series used.

HappyFriar said, "The correct way to say it would be 'Gov makes millions selling public airwaves so people get wireless internet, better emergency communications, more services that give people jobs, I get to buy new microphones.'"

Wonder what color the sky is in his world? Is he familiar with the buffoons who've been running congress since 2007?

Are you sure you really want to go there? I'll take these buffoons over the right-wing buffoons that were running it (into the ground) before.

I'm a moderate, so I can see the buffoons on both sides.

One thing's for sure, neither party can function without the other. That's because it's all just a blame game. It's easier to blame the other side instead of actually just doing what's right for the country as a whole.

You are both acting naive.

Politics is business. Business is politics. It's all about $$.
Buffoons are buffoons. They come in all shapes and sizes. They are the ones that make it all about $$.

Get it?
