As I mentioned, Sony re-created my render issue. Obviously, they used different hardware. My laptop and desktop also puked on render, so it is not hardware related. If Sony can re-create the issue, then cleary there is a flaw.

Quote from support below:
"Not much to report on this, but I just wanted to follow up with you on this as it has been awhile since my last reply to you.

Our engineering is looking into this and will be testing to find a solution. I am not sure that any answers will be available in the near term but I can tell you that we have reproduced the problem and are looking into it.

When I receive any word back related to this issue, I will send out an email to let you know. Sorry we don't have more to report at this time."

"I'm sure if we were all willing to pay $2000+ for Vegas, we could get great support and better beta testing, but I don't see many raising hands in favor of that one."

Padre raises hand...
Dude, im happy to pay big bux for an app which will let me do what i want to do however i wnt to do it..
Im happy to pay extra to use codecs that the normal everyday editor might not need (DVCProHD as an example)
Im hapy to pay extra to integrate direct Cineform encoding WITHIN Vegas itself, where i dont have to dick around with downloads and other 3rd party sites.

Im happy to pay extra if it means we get what we need

I'm with DJP. I'd gladly pay FCP or Adobe prices if Vegas was equally capable. Don't get me wrong, I love my Vegas, been here since v.3, but I've watched other apps leap ahead while our beloved Vegas drags it's feet. As long as what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, it can't be beat. But for me, the real value will be added when Vegas plays well with others. I'm not holding my breath.
