no, the whole thing is an AVI I'm converting to MPEG-2 for DVD architect

also. in the timeline. and when i play the rendered video... it renders up to 8:18

Let's keep to just one thread.

So you are saying that Vegas renders for 8 minutes and 18 seconds and the crashes with a blue screen or error message.

What is the error message?

I had a similar problem with a project. Kept crashing at exactly the same spot on the timeline, and wouldn't PTT. I rendered a new avi up to that spot, rendered a second avi from that spot to the end of the project, put the two together and -- no longer a problem.

My assumption was that there was a corrupt frame, or something else (?) that the computer or Vegas didn't like.

Whatever, it's worth a try for you.
