I just recently got an older used dual quad core Xeon. I'm running XP and Vegas Pro 10.
Under options, I'm trying to set the number of redering threads, but I seem to be limited to 4. I can't select more than that. My understanding from reading the rendertest posts is that I should be able to bump this up higher.
XP reports all 8 cores in device manager, and they show up under the performance tab, so they are truly there and online.
Am I mistaken in my assumption that I should be able to increase the rendering threads above 4?
Also, there was mention in one post regarding in the General settings there is a checkbox to limit multi thread rendering of AVI files. I can't find that listed, and I have not found it in the help manual.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
