8 HOURS! to render before burn?!?

I have a windows xp, 1.8 computer. I have been rendering a movie to burn a DVD, it says about 8 hours to render.

It is a 50 min. movie with 34 chapters within 4 menu pages. Each chapter thumbnail
is animated with background music.

Either it takes this long because of all the features, ie chapters, animation..

OR

I am doing something wrong!

Rendering can take a very long time... 8 hours in your case sounds pretty quick to me.

Actually MadMikey, you're right, I FORGOT TO FACTOR IN THE ELAPSED TIME OF 2 HOURS.

Hence 10 HOURS TO RENDER!

So far I've found animated menus take forever to render. Haven't tried audio on the menus yet.
