I've been using Vegas for about 7 years - and love it. But all of a sudden 8c stops loading during the splash screen with the progress bar at "Creating Windows..." It just hangs and won't go any further.

After closing via Task Mgr, several tries later it loaded ok, then next try same hang. I uninstalled and reinstalled. The first opening went fine, then next try - hang.

I haven't loaded any new software lately, nor installed any Win updates.

I'm running Vista Home on a Q6600 with 3gb and over 100gb free on the disc. Anyone have any thoughts on what may be happening, and what to do about it?
