A Bit OT: What Shutter Speed For Slo-Mo

jkrepner wrote on 7/8/2005, 3:50 PM
A last minute shoot as fallen into my lap for tomorrow. A big portion of it will be slowed down to about 80% in Vegas. My question is: what is the best shutter speed to shoot with, knowing that you'll be slowing the speed of the event down to about 80% in Vegas? Would shooting progressive scan make it better or worse?

Camera: old XL1

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Forget progressive because as far as I know the XL1 etc don't do it.
Probably 1/100th would be fine as you're are no slowing it down much.

Hi Jeff,
Just a suggestion, maybe do some short trials before hand (ie today) to see what works.

Lance.

Also checkout the clip by gmElliott, he has *great* slow mo in his clips. He may have the answer. He posted a link to a great demo recently...
