ok, bare with me (or should that be 'bear'?)
for sd i've happily been using my m15 for monitoring - to a 17" sony hr trinitron (switchable 4:3 / 16:9)
so far i've used my second lcd for hd work - with no problems, but i was wondering....
my first thought was to get a second nvidia card with component out and feed that to the trinnie monitor?
my second was to get a cheap lcd tv with hdmi, but i rather like the confidence i get from the picture on the trinnie(i KNOW for sure my colours, etc.,)
my third, and this is probably a non-starter, was i have a very nice sony dvd recorder with firewire in and component out. could i feed this a firewire single and use it as a transcoder to the monitor? (the m15 doesn't seem to work in this instance - then again, maybe firewire doesn't work like sd for monitoring? think i've been down this road with bob (farss) before, sorry if i have, but i don't remember the answer)
as i wrote, i'm loathed to let my trinnie go, even for hdv stuff, but i'm not sure what / which options are best suited to my situation.....
thoughts most welcome indeed.
