Part of a concert I shot recently for a local cultural exchange group.
From the description, a "duet of vocal and sitar", not something I would have gone out of my way to attend. Regardless of their music these were two of the most wonderful humans I've ever had the privelege to meet. Never before have I had two performers go out of their way to thank the guy at the back of the hall with a camera.
Lighting was terrible, organisers had light stands that were too short and were short of gells so the musicians complained that they couldn't see the audience. As a result half of what little lights were available got turned off.
Audio is a mix of the feed from the desk and my own stereo mic. Syncing Indian music is a dream, you just cannot miss the hits from the tabla. A bit of compression with Wavehammer was needed to tame the beast :) All shot in 50i, de-interlaced with Mike Crash's Smart De-interlacer and Color Curves used to crush the blacks just a whisker. Rendered to 720p mp4. No grading, all done in V9.0c which isn't too happy with a mixture of HDV and XDCAM on the timeline but it got me there without much fuss and I'd be lost without Vegas's audio capabilities.
All comments much appreciated, especially regarding the sound.
BTW, I've tried to love the iZotope's multiband compressor but I keep going back to Wavehammer.
