I personally have a VX2100 and a PD-170. My assistant has a DVC-80 and VX2100.

Well there are much better quality DV cams available. The sony 570 for example...though I don't want to spend what to spend 10k+
For the price I feel the Sony PD-170 and VX2100 are unmatched in terms of event/wedding shooting.
