A New Problem (Dragging Clips) With Vegas Pro 19

Keith-Brown wrote on 8/21/2023, 7:15 AM

Hi all,

So Vegas Pro 19 has been reasonably stable for me for well over a year now, up until last week when all of a sudden I am no longer able to drag clips around on the timeline while playback is happening without causing a long freeze. I can extend/shorten clips during playback without issues, but I can't drag - it freezed for sometimes over 30 seconds. This was never an issue previously so I wonder if some sort of Windows update has caused the issue (I've had problems with this in the past...!)

My details:

Vegas Pro 19 Build 651

Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2

Canon 200D MP4 files 1080 res

AMD 6800XT

AMD Driver 30.0.15021.11005 updated 28/04/22

AMD Ryzen 9 5900 XT 3.7Ghz

32GB RAM

Many thanks in advance,

Keith

@Dexcon thank you - I have just updated the driver. Unfortunately the problem is still there.

Any other suggestions? This is making editing a real nightmare

When VEGAS stops working the way it used to a reset and cache clear can help.

Beyond that did you change settings in preferences/ file io (legacy AVC or the hardware decoder?) You can try enabling legacy or turning the hardware decoder off and see if the issue improves (this may reduce performance though).
