a request: quicker preview of audio files

I often need to select music beds for different parts of projects. One area that could save me time would be Vegas previewing the audio faster.

In the explorer window, it takes 1-2 seconds each time I click on a .wav/.aif/.mp3 file to start hearing it. If I have 1000+ beds to go through to find the perfect sound, it does add time.

I find myself going over to adobe audition, which previews audio instantly; finding the bed, then coming back to Vegas with the name to use.

I don't know if the delay is there intentional or not, it would be great if the delay could be removed for fast preview.

It's related to how Vegas buffers up the file. Audition does indeed do this very nicely. So does Sonar and ProTools.

anyone from vegas willing to take it on and say "we'll look at it?"

When choosing music or effects for projects for broadcast, speed is everything. I can tell is 1/2 second if a bed will work, and often go through 200+ to find the right one. previewing faster would save a lot of time!

Sean, I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I understand your frustration, but how long does it take you to go back and forth between apps as compared to waiting one or two seconds for the music?
