A trivial matter with the Help file

Pete--
Unfortunately, I'm having no luck reproducing this error in house. Sorry. :(

Do the other effects in the help file work? That is, if you hover over a button in an overview topic, does the text change to blue underlined text on hover? Do the drop-down headings work (in "What's New in Vegas 3.0," the headings should turn gray when you hover and drop body text when clicked).

If these work, there's something strange going on here that is, I think, specific to the transition on that page and pretty obscure. I may change the topic to use a different effect (or none at all) for version 3.0a. If you'd be willing to test the new help file, please e-mail me at kevinc@sonicfoundry.com, and I'll send you a new file to replace your current version.

When you reinstalled Vegas, did you uninstall and then reinstall, or did you use the Maintenance Wizard to repair your installation? Are you logged in as an Administrator when you install Vegas (I've had the situation where I'm a member of the Administrators group, but I have to reapply the membership in order to get Administrator rights). I'm just wondering if that might have caused something to not be updated correctly. . . .

Regards,
Kevin

Kevin,
I also have this same error showing up. I just downloaded the program this weekend.

Hello all,

I did the copy to both Help directories and that fixed the problem without applying the Reg Patch but I applied the patch anyway. This fixed the Help file problem both in Acid Pro 3.0 and Vegas 3.0, because both did'nt work.

I also noticed that some other programs Help files don't work either, but their not Sonic Foundry programs. Like Cubasis 2.0

Maybe it's a problem with Windows XP???

See ya, Rockit

Bob--

The script error you're seeing in the first help topic has been identified and is fixed for the upcoming 3.0a release.

Many thanks to PeterMac for helping me track down and correct the issue.

Apologies to all who have been inconvenienced,
Kevin
