A1U as second cam W FX 1

Am looking into the possiblity of getting an A1U as a second cam for some of my shoots.
Alternate angles, tight spots and back up cam to my FX.
does anybody have any recc. as to settings other than the usual W/B
etc... that i should use to closely match the FX as much as possible.
I know that aperature on the A1 is not numbered but rathaer a bar. can these be matched with the FX's stops?
Let's say if I shoot both cams at the same backround or chart then compare via scopes or something?
ie: two steps = f5.6
Also, does the A1 have picture profiles simalr to the FX/Z1.

Spot, anybody using this as a second cam with a FX or Z1 ?

Funny you'd ask. We re-tested this just yesterday, and tested the new HC3 along with the other two HDV cams.
Sharpen up the A1 slightly past center, barely punch up color. Never have matched up the fstops tho, I need to sit down with DV Rack and match them on the scopes.
A1 works very, very well with the Z1. The A1 is just a tad softer and the color pitch is slightly more blue-ish.

Thanks Spot,
be curious how the HC3 stacks up, I know it even more "consumer" than the HC1 but the still res is higher if I recall.
Still plan on going with an A1 as it more needed features but be curiuos on your take of C3 ganna have a review on VASST eventualy?

Higher rez stills, but lesser overall imager rez. It's a nice little cam, not one I'd buy more than one of, but it works. We shot it off a helmet, and it did well. I'm just about to post pix of the differences between the A1 and the HC3, I'll mail you a private link.
