I've read you loose resolution when you de-interlace. So is there value in capturing HDV to Vegas then de-interling the the M2T file and then down rezzing to SD in Vegas?
Is that the best work flow? Any reasonable priced product to make life easier?
I have the A1, and if your going to SD when you de-interlace, the resolution lose shouldn't be a problem. I haven't done any sort of technical comparisons, but Vegas engine for doing this produces good results. Some on this forum have recommended not de-interlacing unless you have to.
I've even used raw A1 footage to go to a 24p DVD, though johnmeyer, among others, have pointed out that this has some artistic compromises. There is also DVFILMaker. For my eye, both convert very well.
