aaargh! Project will not open!

I have a Greenscreen project w/ 1 DV Video Track, 1 Video Background Track, 2 Audio Streams (1 via internal mic - 1 via external mic), & 1 Stereo Music track. Each of 6 sections has a Vegas Text Title.

Applied FX are:
- Chroma Blur
- Chroma Key

After I render the project then try to reopen it... Vegas freezes!
This is the 3rd time I've redone this project and each time... Vegas freezes!
- 1st time it froze @ 94%
- 2nd time it froze @ 74%
- 3rd time it froze @ 42%

-- If I export another file from Squeeze and named it to match the original... freeze.
-- If I duplicate the .VEG... freeze.
-- If I try to open the .VEG backup... freeze.
-- If I start a new .VEG and NEST the original .VEG it will play... but freezes at the same point if I click 'Edit w/ Vegas'
-- The video file will import into another .VEG with no problem until I close and try to reopen it then... freeze.

Any thoughts or ideas?

If you turn off the title track and render does it freeze?
If not render as uncompressed avi. Then use that avi in a new veg and add titles.

What is your virtual memory size compared to actual memory?

I don't know... the project freezes while opening. I am unable to select/deselect anything because it never opens. (I let it sit overnight last night hoping that it would open... 8 hours later... nothing)

The nested .VEG has titles & a Music bed. It is a Rough Cut that needs the Music 'Ducked' In & Out... it also already has titles. Since it freezes while opening... I cannot open the original project to change anything.

I don't see where it says 'Building Audio Waveforms' but I also don't see any .SFK or .SFL files.

I'm gonna try to Move & Open the project on another Vegas Workstation when it's available to see what it does. I'm now rebuilding the project in Premiere Pro [i](FCP's ChromaKey wasn't satisfactory)[/] so I can deliver.

If/when I can get the project open I will try your suggestions and post back.

want to e-mail it to someone else? If they can open it it may be the media files & not the project itself.

Well, I got it to open on another Vegas Workstation, no problem... but didn't have time to Render.
I am still unable to open it on the Vegas Laptop Workstation that created it though. It won't even open after I ReSave it to another .VEG w/ a different name. It still hangs/freezes at 'Opening Project - 42%'.

Premiere seemed to pull through though. I got the project complete & delivered but I would really like to know what's going on so I can prevent it or just in case it happens again.
