"Gotta love standards"

The classic quote on this subject: "I love standards. There's so many of them to choose from."

InterceptPoint... I'd never heard that one before. Thanks for the laugh!

"As for the car starter analogy, I just don't see it that way...Vegas' starter isn't broken..it starts up and works fine. I think this is more a case of one of it's factory options like dual-climate control.....I don't think the dual-climate control is working ;-)"

Fair enough--I suppose it DOES run (though she "stalls" on my system every 5 minutes!!) ;) Dual-climate control (as a replacement) is a bit too inconsequential for me. I guess I should change my analogy to buying a vehicle specifically for the 4x4 feature and the 4x4 won't engage (even though the vehicle runs).

Wow, I've got to stop writing analogies--they're getting worse! ;)

the thing that bothers me about the griping around here is that everyone here agree's that software has teething problems when it's new yet some insist on screaming like they are surprised when they find what they admit was already there....

My thoughts exactly. It's almost as if people are happier complaining about problems than they are having them fixed.
