I was going to do a Zippy this morning, after looking at my PC screen, you know the thing, everyone else is wrong I must be right, gimme the answer I cannot be bothered to actually think the problem out first, anyway I digress..
I set Vegas on capture last night, to load my wedding, got up this morning and there is only 15 clips in the capture. Quick look and loads seem missing Oh no I thought how can that be, all the settings are correct, looking closer all footage had been captured but not in clips as I assumed it would be. Some clips at the end had split correctly, they were added after the wedding from my MiniDV camera.
After the initial get on the forum and rant, I had a think, why do clips split, not time code that's continuous, ker-chink the penny dropped, the machine had been in for repair and a quick look at the clock on the Camera reveled the clock had not been set, doh.... ahh, why had some clips split, i had noticed in the past that for some odd reason , a very long clip with no breaks would for what ever reason split.
SO
no clock set = no split video.
I rest my case, me laud....
