AC3 levels too low

When I render an audio track to AC3 in preparation for authoring in DVD Architect, the level of the rendered file is way too low. I've tried setting the levels above 0db on the Vegas timeline but this hasn't fixed it.

Any suggestions?

In the AC3 "custom" screen:

Change the dialog normalization to -31

On the PreProcessing tab, change both the Line mode profile and RF mode profile to NONE.

Using the PreProcessing settings you suggested fixed it.

I mainly use PCM wav audio, but since this has come up several times, I'm surprised that Vegas does not include these settings as a preset.

At least we can create our own template -I call mine "ac3 Edward's Settings"
