ac3 pro and ac3studio

Since magix dropped the ac3pro , leaving us with the ac3studio only , is there a way to still render to ac3 without having the volume very low again when playing DVD in DVD player ?

One can not change anything anymore now as we could before , i.e. in AC3 pro ( vegas ) and in order to prevent volume being very low when playing the DVD in DVD player , we had to  ( in ac3 pro settings in vegas )

Change the dialog normalization to -31

On the PreProcessing tab, change both the Line mode profile and RF mode profile to NONE

Then render as such in vegas

Still have about a 500 DVD's per year request from kids dance shows where parents and grand parents only have DVD players at home :-(

Rendering to other formats is not the question here , DVD is full till the last byte since try to give max quality in video and can't have large audio files on top . ( stereo sound only )

Does the AC-3 Studio codec drop the volume in the same way as the AC-3 Pro codec did without those modifications? I've wondered the same thing myself recently. Could be tested fairly easily.

You still have the possibility of the hack and the ffmpeg workaround.

Thanks for the reply , Nick .

I don't know whether the AC3-studio drops the volume , that's why I asked . I bought the 14 upgrade about 1.5 months ago but did not install it .When I then did read the latest 14 pro version build did give an error after applying the hack and trying to use it , I didn't look at 14 anymore and continued with sony's latest 13 .

Maybe someone has it tested already and can give an answer  .version 14 will anyway not be installed anymore now and the serial will remain in the mail , unless I can use that serial for 15

AC3Pro OK with VP14 (252) but fails in (270).  I rolled back to v252.

Not sure what the position is with VP15 so will not upgrade until AC3 Pro is included or can be added via hack.

It can be added via hack.

I found that the hack does work with both 14 and 15 but you will get an error that the file cannot be created when in fact it has been.
