What's up with Academic Superstore? They've given me several different dates to ship and now its early April? Could be the last time I look at them for products and I work in an academic field that buys lots of software...
And what's with exclamation marks!!!
Thank you!!!!
Have a wonderful day!!!!!!
I just got off the phone with Academic Superstore and was told that their shipment from Sonic Foundry is in route and should arrive THIS WEEK. They will start shipping the same day the product arrives, which means THIS WEEK. I asked about the April delivery date and was told that they alwasy pad the offical date because new products often encounter unexpected delays. But he assured me that Sonic Foundry has shipped their allotment and they, in turn, will be shipping very soon. Good News!
Seems like the runaround to me. I've heard several different dates now too. At this point it doesn't matter because it doesn't look like it will be here for spring break. I needed that time to move projects over from VV3 and test before committing everything to the new V4.
Makes me think twice about going the academic route over the upgrade next time. I guess the $30 difference is worth the wait but I wish they would get their customer service on the same page for customer information.
This is very frustrating. I was told two days ago that the shipment was enroute and would arrive this week. After reading the previous post I called Academic Superstore and now I'm being told that the shipment date has been pushed back and, in fact, is NOT enroute. I'm now being told the end of March or beginning of April again.
My order is for Vegas4 + DVD, so I curious if caveman's order is for the whole package or just Vegas4. Regardless, the mixed signals are very frustrating.
I too am waiting for my shipment from Academic Superstore.
I think the idea is that if you get ticked off enough you will go and spend full retail price..I can almost guarantee that SoFo is shipping to all of those customers first.
As the academic price is so sweet I will just have to wait until all of the rich people get there copies.
Hold the phone (well, keyboard or mouse or cursor)!
I just got my copy of V4+DVDA today from Academic Superstores. I'd had it sent UPS Next Day, since they said (a couple weeks ago) it was "any day now". I too had been quoted a ship-date of late-March or early April once the initial date evaporated. So, please be patient and your copy will be here soon. BTW, Diedra had said they ship FIFO.
When the first ship-date from AS slipped awhile back, I talked at length to them and to SoFo, and got a consensus from both that no one was trying to jazz anyone, it's just that SoFo was honoring their own direct-shipments first and then fulfilling the outside orders as they had product (can ya blame 'em?).
I sympathisize with ya if they said "it's in the mail" and then back-pedal, but we all know it's gonna be worth the wait.
Gotta go figure out how to make it talk to my Sony DRU500A now. Been watching the various posts and problems, and have more than a bit of trepidation.
Okay....here's my story....I ordered V4+DVD as soon as it became available for ordering (I think it was early Feb) from Ventura Educational Systems. Even tho I'm a registered V3 user, it was cheaper for me to buy a boxed copy from them.
I waited and waited, exchanged email after email. Kept being told that it wasn't in the warehouse.
Two days ago I got angry and asked for a refund to take my business elsewhere. The reply was, they couldn't give me what they didn't have. They offered to convert the order to electronic download and I accepted, and they said it would take a couple of days for Sonic Foundry to return the serials.
THE NEXT DAY, my wife hands me a UPS box with a boxed copy of V4+DVD from Ventura. SHIPPED VIA UPS GROUND. I emphasize GROUND. Those people don't even know what they have in their warehouse.
Anyway, I'm happy. Cancelled the conversion to electronic download :)
Just got off the phone with Academic Superstore....again....and here is what I found out. They have about 240 orders for Vegas, but so far they have only received 50 copies of Vegas4 + DVD and zero copies of Vegas4. They shipped the 50 copies to the first 50 customers to order, and will ship future copies as they are received.
