access violation

has anybody been able to figure out this access violation problem. I plunked down a $ioo beans for sony vegas movie dvd plantinum and I cant even open the program without an error.sony tech lists about 30 different reasons why this access violation error would occ ur, from registry problems to a dirty fan,I just spent two months with pinnacles studio 10, tring to export a 30 min wedding project to dvd with no success, I had heard vegas was a robust, stable program, after browsing thru the forums ive seen this access violation error all over tghe place, any body have asimpler fix than what the tech guys lay out? thanks

I don't know - but this is the Vegas forum. The "Movie Studio/Video Factory" forum might have more answers than this one does, as that's the forum associated with your product. Not that posting here might not help you, but that's where I'd suggest looking.

As Dave mentions, you'll do better by visiting the Vegas Movie Studio forum.
That said;
Be sure antivirus is disabled, computer is running clean, etc. Vegas is indeed stable. The fact that Pinnacle too, crashes, indicates that there is something physically wrong with your system, or that youv'e got some driver/heat/sharing issues happening.
