ACHVD files from my HDR TG1

I just bought the Sony HDR TG1 handycam and am also trying to learn how to use Vegas Pro 8 at the same time. I can import ACHVD files into Vegas ok, but a 15 minute movie is taking about 3 hours to render. Would the rendering speed up if I converted the files first using ACHVD Upshift or similar? Or is the long rendering time for a 15 min movie about right? I am new to this game and need all the help I can get.

Render times will depend on your rig and also your project output size. If your project size is 1920x1080 then 3 hours is about average. I get about 7-8 hours on a 35 minute movie.
