Activation Failed -56

Just upgraded and everything went well.  But when I tried to start the Movie Studio and entered the SN and my email address - it would not activate and gave me an error -56.  Was also unable to activate online.  All I want to do is make a video.  Instead I paid for an upgrade and can't use the product - no matter what I try or do.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-56 error is a new one to me. A couple things to look into:

  • Check your firewall settings.
  • Check the date and time on you computer to make sure they are accurate.
  • The installation may not have been properly done. Uninstall and reinstall the application.
  • If none of that works, please create a support ticket.

I turned off the firewall. Computer date and time are accurate. I uninstalled the app and re-installed it with anti-virus turned off. I got the same results. Error Code -56. I have a screen print, attached. I've been all over the Vegas site - and they don't make it easy to put in a support ticket, but I think i did. This is very frustrating and not the experience I expected or wanted. Just want to make a few simple training videos and two days later I'm fighting with software.
