Add a toolbar button to split clips when clicked?

Is it possible to add a toolbar button or button anywhere in Vegas to touch (with finger or pen) that will function like hitting the "s" key does and split a clip?

It would be amazing to be able to ditch the need for a keyboard or on-screen keyboard completely while editing on a touchscreen device with fingers or a pen.

Probably a script could be written and then put that script on the toolbar.

Vegas Pro 13 already has a button for 'split' on the 'time-line' toolbar at the bottom.

With Vegas Pro 12, go to Tools, Customize Toolbar and you should see a Split you
can add to the top toolbar

edit: BTW .. did you know that clicking on your website brings up a virus threat alert?? Not cool.

Thank you....

and...umm...no I did not know that. I just tried it on my phone and in Chrome, FF, and IE on PC and didn't get any virus alert. Weird. It should be fine. It's just a background image and a bunch of links? The source still looks clean. Weird weird weird.

Rosebud wrote me a script back in 2007 that focuses to the timeline and cuts through all events under the cursor.

Paste the text into notepad, save it as split.js in C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 13.0\Script Menu (if you're using V13). Then you can put it on your toolbar.

I changed my cut key from S to U just above JKL. Since I use JKL all the time the U can be used without looking at the keyboard. :)

Get a good programmable mouse.

I have split, J K L, Zoom... etc all programmed into the mouse so I control it all with one hand.

OOPS!
Sorry... just read you were using a tablet!
