Add Chapters to old MPEG2 files

If I open an MPEG2, then add markers for chapters, create thumbnails in DVDA & then burn disk will the MPEG2 file be recommpressed? No other changes are intended.

Nope it doesn't re-compress (especially if you do this in DVDA). I think you'll get a warning in DVDA about it otherwise.

It does partially depend on the format of the MPEG2 file. If it's not DVD legal then DVD Architect will probably warn you that it needs to be reencoded to make it legal.
