Are you sure the TIFF file is being saved with transparency?

I use Ulead's PhotoImpact 10 to create my transparent TIFFs and TGAs. In order to do so, I must create a selection over the area of the image I want to keep solid before saving as TIFF (or TGA). I then save as TIFF with the "save selection" option.

Did you select the alpha channel for it?
Right -click on the event, select Properties, at the General tab, select Media Properties - Alpha Channel, i usually use straight unmatted. But depends on ur image i guess....

Another thing you might try is to use the chromakey feature. Assuming the background color is distinct from the colors in the logo, this might work well for you.

Actually, you can use what gogiants suggested if you need to add some transparency to your logo (once you get the other problem sorted out). You'd simply match (or closely match) the color of the logo with the chroma key color.
