Add Point

I was wondering if anyone has a better solution to adding
points on the Volume Line. When I "Add points" to my
volume graphs by right clicking and selecting "add point",
it always seems to add a point and then also alter the
volume level at that point. It only seems to not add any
volume unless I take the extra effort to make sure my mouse
pointer is exactly centered in the middle of the volume
line. This always seems to make a lot of extra work.
Seems like I'm always adding points and then having to re-
right click and then reset it to 0dB. This is fine, except
when I'm adding a point that's on a line that's not at
0dB. Most of the time I find that I add a point and don't
realize that it also added a volume change at that point
and then I have a huge fade happening throughout a song.
Seems like when you "add a point", it should do "just
that", not add any volume until I actually left click and
grab the point.

release buggy software, then charge people to tell them its
buggy...i really like the software and am straining to come
up with reasons to stick with it. lil hint: when entering a
NEW market (video) its a good idea to attract NEW
customers, this is not the best way to make new friends,
especially in light of recent events.

I haven't tried telephone support, but I've found the free
email support to be excellent even before I purchased the
product. I especially want to give kudos to Jon Hyllekve
who has quickly answered every email I've sent. I don't
know if I agree with charging for support, although many
other companies do this so I'm not surprised, but I do
think the email support has been great. I would like this
forum support better if they would switch to a decent forum
package since this one seems to flicker my screen a lot and finding responses to questions is pretty tedious. Something like BoardPower or UltimateBBS might work better. That being said, the answers seem to be quick and useful. Hey Brian -
I'm not sure I follow. First, I double click to get my
points rather than right clicking... maybe that would help
save a step. Also, you do have to be careful when you make
an adjustment to an envelope point that there aren't other
points that follow later in the track because any
adjustment you make to the one will affect how the envelope
then gets to the other. In those cases I usually "frame"
the section I want to affect by adding points to the end of
my adjustment area so I make sure to only affect that
section. Make sense? I don't see the behavior you're
talking about, though. When I double click or "add point"
it just adds a point.

BRAVO!!!!!!!!

This has been a MAJOR time waster for me too.
Creativity is also stifled cuz I dont want to mess around
having to add four points and then set the outer two to
zero all the time....

How bout you send a message to "product suggestions" that
add point automatically(or maybe an option in preferences)
goes to zero by default?

Im going to do that just now, but more voices will help....

to encourage pay for phone calls

Oh...I didn't know you could double click to add a point, I
always have right clicked on the Volume line and then
selected "Add Point" from the menu that appears, and almost
everytime I do this the point does not stay stationary like
you would expect it to. It seems to add a point and also
increases the volume at that point +.5db or so. I don't
really like the suggestion that the point automatically
goes to 0dB, sometimes I have a straight line at -3dB and I
want to maybe decrease a section in that -3dB area, so I
add four points, and instead of having the four points,
just be points on that -3dB line it scatters them all
around + or - .5dB and then I have to adjust each one to
get it back where I want them.
