Adding a transition progress envelope

I'm trying to add a transition progress envelope without any success. I've read the instructions on page 233 of the users manual. I right-click on the transition on the timeline to get the shortcut menu. I then select insert/remove envelopes. The velocity envelope selection is normal but the transition progression selection is greyed out and not selectable. Is there an options selection somewhere that needs to be turned on? Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Insert any kind of a transition EXCEPT the default crossfade, and you can have a transitional envelope.

Thank you,
How do you find time to do all the work that you do and still have time to learn all the ins and outs of Vegas AND participate in the different forums????

I choose the red pill. What about you?
Seriously, I don't sleep much any more, and edit on planes a lot. As far as "learning" Vegas, I was there in the beginning, so at this point, the workflow is somewhat like breathing.

Now if we could get a firewire connection to the "Vegas Lobe" of your brain, much of the content of this forum could be eliminated!

I think even firewire woudl be too slow to transmit all the Vegas knowledge in Spot's head. We're talkin' fiber-optic...at least!

OK guys....thanks for the kind words, they are very much appreciated. But...i'm embarassed and the topic is kinda going OT.
Now, what city am I in? What did I have for breakfast? :-) I definitely need more fiber, you got that part right.
