Select the first picture and write yourself a macro that does the following:

CTRL-ALT-Right Arrow (to get to the next break {may need two of them on subsequent moves})

Numpad "/" - to add a dissolve.

Or, when adding the pictures, specify in the options how much you want the pictures to overlap and they will automatically overlap that amount.

My timeline would consist of mixed static and moving video clips that I time as cuts to music. Once I'm happy with the order and pacing of the project, then I would like to go back and add all of the dissolves in one fell swoop. Your macro idea sounds like it would work -- does VV have a built-in macro language or what would you recommend?

The reason I asked this in the first place is that years ago, the first NLE I used was a Avid Media Composer 1000. I could lasso as many clips as I wanted and drag a transition to the timeline and 2 seconds later I'd be finished. Maybe the Sofo folks might consider including this very handy feature in VV4?

Vegas does NOT have built-in macros. Many people on this forum recommend RemoteKeys. I currently do not have any macro programs installed and can, therefore, not recommend any.
