Adding .m2ts media to a project

I upgraded to VMS 8 Platinum to be able to use the AVCHD .m2ts files off my Sony HDV Handycam. VMS gives me an error ("The requested plug-in does not have the necessary features unlocked") any time I try to add a .m2ts file to my timeline. Has anyone seen this before? Should I be able to add these files just like any other video file?

Did it work with VMS7? Is the actual resolution of the file 1440 and not 1920? If the answer is yes on both, then this is possibly a bug, so I would go on to report it on Sony's online bug form.

According to the instructions you must use the software that came with your Sony cam to extract the files from the disk/cam's harddisk which then creates the m2t or m2ts files on the harddisk.

To me it sounds like you did do this using the sony software. Have you activated VMS 8 Plat?
I would contact tech support, don't understand the activation pop-up screen but make sure to also install Dvd Architech Studio 4.5 and activate it also, that may have something to do with the activation of the plug-ins.
