Additional DVD menus and themes?

Does anyone know where to get additional DVD menu templates or themes for DVDA? I've tried searching for them online, and did find some for sale. Is there a way to know for sure if they will work with DVDA? Or better yet, anyone know where to get some free ones? There was a post from back in 2005 from someone saying he was thinking about creating some, but there is nothing more recent.
Thanks.

Sony's got a great page of free stuff here:

There are also lots of music and motion backgrounds for menus here:

That may have been me. Was it that long ago? Yeesh.

I think about creating some generic themes every now and then. One of these days I'll actually get around to it. Supposing I do sometime this year, what kind of themes would you like to see? Not, given my track record, I could promise anything anytime soon. But never say never.

As mentioned above, Sony has some themes at this very website, but I think that the "extras" there have since been added to the standard installation (as of DVDA 4.5).

Another option is to download some of the many menu template PSDs (Photoshop files) available out there for Encore and then mold them into the specs that DVD Architect requires. They won't be themes exactly, but you can create menus from them. It'll take some work, though, because DVDA uses a different layer naming convention and doesn't support some aspects that Encore does -- and I don't think anyone's out there making these files "the DVD Architect way."

Thanks for the info! I do believe that most, if not all, of the themes on Sony's website are indeed included in my DVDA. And on the other link, wow! those are expensive. That is exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for, but maybe a little cheaper.

As for what kind of themes I would be interested in, that's a good question. There seem to be several wedding themes already, and some birthday and vacation ones. What I"m actually working on right now is a memorial service. For that, you obviously don't want coffins and tombstones, you want what the person was interested in. In this case, it is music. There is the one theme with the microphone, which is probably what I'll go with, but I don't really like it. It would be nice to have a piano or guitar or something. I've tried looking for pictures that would work along those themes. I found a nice one, but it's not widescreen format, so it doesn't work very well.

Well, anyway, thanks so much for your help!

You may also want to look into the products page at Muvipix.com, a site set up as a community for amateur and semi-professional videomakers.
http://muvipix.com/products.php

You won't find DVD Architect templates per se, but you will find dozens of motion backgrounds and Photoshop files that can be used as backgrounds, as well as a very helpful forum.

Many of the products on the site are free, and new products are added regularly. They also have an affordable subscription service that gives you unlimited access to all the products, menus, backgrounds, music and tutorials.
