Adjusting Audio

I have imported some MP3 tracks into my media pool and inserted them on music track in SB3. In some places the voice track is not very loud and the music track over powers the voice. Is there a way to adjust the output volumn of specific locations on the voice track and music track. (Turn one songs volumn up and another ones down without changing the output volumn of the entire track?)

No problem, you can use volume envelopes - select the track you want and type "v" (without the quotes!). That'll display a blue line showing the level. Clicking on the line will create anchor points and you can then drag the volume up and down between the points as needed.

That is so way cool!! I didn't realize you could add points by double clicking on the blue line and then adjust them individually.

By learning something every day, you soon realize how little you really know!!

Thanks IanG...

Great tip, IanG. I didn't know that you can do that in MS. Pretty cool. A question not related to this thread: How do you do split (audio leads video) edits in MS?

If you click on "Ignore Event Grouping" you can move the audio and video tracks independently - it makes split edits simple. Don't forget to toggle that switch when you've finished!

Thanks Ian, great help. I could not find this anywhere in the documentation.

Someone needs to write a book "Tips and Tricks for SB" I have a feeling this app will do many more things than most of us know. Unless the issue comes up as a problem to a user and we ask for help on this forum many of us would never know many of the capablilites of SB.
