Adobe is being sued.

Yes, Adobe is being sued for being incredibly dishonest in there subscription cancellation process.

From the day they went full subscription, I did not mince words with the utter madness their new policies were..... It was a long time coming, and now they have been found out by the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice..... But what surprised me is that they have the nerve to be contesting it.

I'm unlikely to join the class since I don't have any plans of cancelling my subscription to Light Room, Photoshop, etc. I'm well past the first year. I do get annoyed with "come on" pricing from corporations. Just give me the price and I'll decide if it's worth it.

It's about time! I had my lifetime license to Photoshop Elements canceled out from under me because they "dismantled the authentication servers". So, when I went to install it on my PC after my hard drive crashed, I was entirely unable to install the software.

The adobe tech I chatted with could even see it was a valid, lifetime license, but was unable to give me any way to access the software. Her recommendation? "I can get a discount on our subscription to Photoshop." No. Just no. I don't do subscriptions if I can avoid them. I wonder if the FTC will ever do anything about cases like mine.

P.S. -- Affinity Photo and SilkyPix for the win as adobe replacements!

They don't have nerve to contest it. They have the money.

@Mohammed_Anis Well, because they have the money, that's why they are currently in hot water, and will continually have problems with their deceitful methodology.

For some, Adobe is a business expense and a tax write-off. But deceptively saying they can train their AI on you cloud assets is wrong. Especially if you are working with a NDA.

Unfortunately, Adobe is in the schools, and learning Premiere/Photoshop/Lightroom has become a defacto if you want to work in the industry.

But there are alternatives that are not subscription.

The last version I had was CS2.

Can't argue with that
