I've asked them many times about this. It's a "D1" connector, fairly common on Japanese HDTVs etc. There maybe a cable made for the PS1 that'll work.

Bear in mind the output is not a full res component output.

Thanks, I thought it would output full component video and audio - thats if I had component video on my system.

Do you own one? Does it do a good job on old footage? Do you regret buying it?

I didn't get it yet - it's on the way to NFLD Canada

I have one and I LOVE it!
It does about as good a job as can be done on old footage. I use a S-SVHS VCR taking the S-Video from it into the 300. The TBC and DNR do a good job.
Only other way to improve matters would be in the VCR although I have my doubts if there's much more that could be done. Things like dropout compensation can only be done in the VCR as the electronics needs access to the RF signal coming off the tape.

I don't regret buying, I've got my money back hiring the unti out, a lot of times it's for going from SP to DV and everyone except one hirer has loved it also. The guy who didn't like it forgot to reset it to the factory defaults so had the gain would WAY up!

My only complaint is the manual, Canopus need to put more effort into explaining just what all the trweaks do exactly.

Bob.

I use one and it is excellent. Use the S video jack and firewire jacks with no problem. This D1 jack might be similar to the new HDMI connector (mini DVI) for wiring runs in walls. They reduced the size of the DVI connector to go thru small holes. Make sure you are sitting down when you look at the price. Its a real jaw-breaker.
