Greetings: I'm doing a video of a 700 person outdoor company party where I work. I plant to edit to 4K-30p 100MBS and will probably deliver 1080-30p. I would like to get good photo prints from the 4K, but the 30fps rate may be an issue if there is any movement. Of course I have a good tripod. I though it would look great to do (below)...I ask your advice about the following:
1) Time Lapse, Crews will come to our parking lot the morning before the party to build large tents and setup tables and chairs. I have a good spot on the roof to shoot from. It may take 2-4 hours to build with cover tarp. It simple math as to frame rate for this one.
I drew inspiration from Motley Crue's video HOME SWEET HOME 0:38-0:48
2) Slo-Mo ? This one's a bit trickier for me. Used for Dunk Tank and Volleyvall... I read somewhere that I can reduce frame rate to 13 fps before noticeable flicker. It that fair or should I use another replay frame rate ? So if I shoot at 1080p-120 I could get a 9:1 slomo with no flicker ??? If that case, 120 fps must have audio which I can play with in post. Outdoors so possibly change shutter speed from 60 to 240+ 480+ ???
Regarding slomo with my AX-700, #1 audio recording is necessary. Is there an effect to change pitch of audio to the original because everybody knows that when you playback at half speed on an analog machine, pitch drops an octave (half frequency).
What about changing replay frame rate in the middle of a shot ? Example, shooting 120fps rending 30fps...before dunk tank ball is thrown, normal speed. Ball mid air, variable (slowing more and more each additional frame) until max 9:1 ratio (120ftp to 13 fps) is achieved when ball hits target and manager is dropping into dunk tank ??? Advice ???
THANK YOU !
Tom
