I record video game footage and it records in .MPG

Problem is it lags terribly in Vegas because its so compressed. I had the K-Lite codec installed but I just uninstalled it and im going to start from scratch.

So can you advise me on what format to convert these files so I can view and edit better in vegas? And what program you recommend to do the converting?

And finally what codec pack do you recommend...this is so frustrating.

I was using Any Video Converter but im not doing something right..because the files when converting to AVI ended up being smaller than the original files..and I know AVI should be much larger..please help

Is it a video camera or a digital still camera?
What's the make & model?

DV-AVI.

Vegas.

Nothing else is needed as Vegas can already do this.

Im recording with a device called a Hava

www.myhava.com

HD Titanium Wifi It saves everything to mpg

I tried to use vegas to render to AVI but the audio is always messed up when I bring it to the timeline. It plays fine outside of Vegas

I have a quadcore with 4GB of ram and ive followed all the other advise ive found here

I looked at the site and I'm not surprised that Vegas doesn't know what to do with it.
I looked through the Hava forum and found a thread called Best editing software for Hava?.
HTH.
