Affecting my thumbnails ?

OK, so I am wondering if others are having the same issue that I am having, that is getting (see the picture below) after I open Vegas. I effect all folders.

I reset my computer open the folders and all is as it should be. Once I open Vegas Pro 19 this seems to happen.

I would appreciate any answers to this problem.

What is this media and is VEGAS able to read it?

OK, so Vegas can load it and it will play, but does not show the thumbnail. The file is a MP4 file from a Sanyo camera. I have the free version of DaVinci and when I open it and go to the same folder everything is displayed correctly.

Thanks for sharing! It looks like AVC though it's interlaced which is less common these days.

If you check "enable legacy AVC" decoding in preferences, file io do you get thumbnails?

(I wouldn't suggest keeping it on legacy AVC unless it helps performance or stability)

Thank you, I have downloaded a free app called Media preview Configuration from Babelsoft and that has fixed the issue. Hopefully this will not effect Vegas inversely, but if it does I shall try your suggestion. Thank you for your time and efforts.

Was Windows also unable to generate thumbnails for these files? Does that software also help with Windows Explorer?

Yes, but not always, especially if I had been using Vegas. This app has remedied all the issues.
