Hi all, basically I'm new to this and wanted some softare that I can use to edit films/videos....specifically putting faces over original footage such as in this clip:

Which would be best suited for doing this? I couldn't seem to manage it with the Movie Studio ones...maybe I'm missing something? Just so many versions to chose from!

Vegas Pro Suite
Vegas Pro Production Assistant
Vegas Pro Edit
Vegas Pro
Movie Studio Suite
Movie Studio Platinum
Movie Studio

Thanks

That requires motion tracking. As far as I know, the only product you listed that can do that is Vegas Pro Suite using the bundled Boris FX Match Move Unit. There is another recent thread on motion tracking here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/automated-track-motion--104636/ (They are talking about keeping a head still within the frame, which is different to what you want, but the same type of software is required. You are looking for standard motion tracking)

Motion tracking is also possible with Vegas Pro Edit and the free Hitfilm Express

Looking at the actual video the OP posted: that was all manual positioning of the image: No automated tracking. This manual positioning (+ keyframing) is possible in Movie Studio. But, I have to say, would be much better to utilise a point tracker, and per the above post, Hitfilm Express is perfect for that. Another alternative would be Blackmagic Fusion (the free version), but that may be a bit harder if you're not used to node based compositing.
