After Effects on a Mac to Vegas to WM9 Hi Def workflow question

I'm trying to figure out the best way to have media rendered out in After Effects from a Mac so I can pop it in Vegas and encode to WM9 (1080p or 720p). Video quality is the main priority so file size and render times are not an issue. So far my experiments have been going pretty good but I'm hoping some gurus have a bit of insight.

We have tried big .mov files and they looked pretty decent, we've also had some luck with mpeg 4. Does anyone have any tips or know of more info on this? The Macs have FCP as well if that helps.

thanks a bunch

Sending out as a Quicktime mjpeg or targa sequence would be the best option overall, and would keep compression issues to a minimum. Drop them into Vegas and create your WMVHD from there. You'll love it.
I just showed some of this at the Videomaker Expo yesterday, from my perspective, the smoothest workflow is to output a sequential targa file.
Which flavor of MPEG 4 are you using to get the file into Vegas?

Still images sequences, targa (.tga), is fine, this works well coming from AE.
I'd avoid exporting as targa INSIDE Quicktime. Just render out a numbered .tga sequence to a folder, open that directly in Vegas.
