billiard-dog wrote on 7/13/2017, 11:01 PM

I use laptop, after imported .MP4 it is about 13 sce long and only 39.8MB

my RAM is 8GB CPU is 3.0GHz GPU is Intel HD graphic 520.

I have already set the max RAM into 5000MB.

as soon as I imported mp4 file, the preview is black and as soon as I click the clip, it CRASHED~~~

BTW, i import 29 photos to vegas pro It can run smoothly and there is no any problem..

turn your ram (preview i suspect) down to default.

where is the mp4 coming from, camera, game capture, etc.?

vegas 14 in win7

I had turned it to default I haven't solved

the mp4 come from camera(canon EOS M3)

I just try import avi, wmv. It can work well

i would suspect it's canon's mp4, or that you're running win 7 rather than 10. if i remember there was some chatter about a mp4 problem / fix for win 7, though i don't know if it concerned canon.

if you post mediainfo details of a clip, or small sample i'm sure people will help out...

I tried the Canon M3 as a pocket camera when it first became available and I didn't have any trouble working with the files with whatever Vegas and Windows was up to at the time. Though I normally save samples from cameras that I try, the M3 had such terrible auto-focus I didn't even save the sample files.

What do you mean by "set the RAM into 5000MB". ? Do yo mean dynamic RAM preview in Vegas? If so, reset it to the 200 MB default. Also, what kind of laptop? Specs?

thank everybody for answering I have already solve this so far

I watched this

I follow its steps, but I only remove the file compound.dll in a folder(you can see the details in that video)

I didn't follow all the videos' steps but I have imported mp4 file and render successfully.
