After latest Vegas 22 update - unable to launch the program

Hi everyone,

Two days ago, I updated to Vegas Pro 22, and since then, I haven’t been able to launch the application.

When I click the executable file, nothing happens—no processes appear in Task Manager, and there’s no response at all. I’ve tried running the app as an administrator, but that didn’t help either.

I’ve also tried reinstalling the app, including a full uninstall followed by a fresh install, but the issue persists. Clicking the executable results in no reaction whatsoever.

I need help resolving this as the app is currently unusable, and I need it for work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, thank you! Repairing C++ Redistributable fixed an issue

I’ve seen this happen after major Vegas updates, too. Sometimes leftover files from the previous version block the new one from launching. Try deleting the Vegas Pro cache folders (under AppData) and then reinstalling—it often fixes startup issues. Also, make sure your GPU drivers are fully up to date, since Vegas can be sensitive to driver mismatches.

I ran into similar headaches when working with editing apps like CaapCutMODAPK—a clean reinstall plus clearing cache usually solves launch problems. Hopefully, this gets you back up and running quickly.

@johan-m I assume by "update" you are referring to a new version and not a new build of an existing version. As you can have many different versions of VP installed, as have several users on this forum, files from any version shouldn't interfere with another version. I cannot recall any problems of this nature being mentioned here. The versions act independently although I recall there are some shared files such as custom render templates and OFX Presets..
