I've used it with 4 and no problems what so ever.
There is a white paper that deals specifically with the dvx.
Just setup vegas like it says and you'll be fine.

OK where is the white paper? I have looked around the wesite and cannot find it.

The white paper doesn't specifically address the DVX100, juts 24p in general. Also there's a Vegas forum at www.dvxuser.com. Heaps of Vegas people using this camera.

Here's the whitepaper.

I haven't shot anything since installing Vegas 5 but used ver 4. extensively with my DVX 100. Quite smooth together.

If you're using a deck to capture which is the best idea rather than use the camera. Stay clear of the JVC BR-DV3000 deck. I've had problems, hit and miss with this deck playing the 24p flag on the tapes. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. I end up with footage that is 24p by look but recognized by Vegas as 29.97.
