AI Models Not Showing In Vegas 18 All Builds

Sassylola wrote on 10/30/2020, 3:49 PM

My AI models were not showing up in any of the Vegas 18 builds unless I had Hardware Decoder in file I/O set to off. So I put a new copy of Win 10 Pro on my PC, installed the latest AMD video driver and chipset driver. Updated Windows.

When I first installed Vegas 18 Build 373 on my new copy of Windows 10 Pro, I went to VideoFx and could see style transfer, but it said I needed the Deep Learning Models installed. I then download the Deep Learning Models and installed them. I thought I finally had it fixed. I started to add some of my programs back one at a time and then checked to make sure I was still seeing my AI Fx's.

I then added Internet Download Manager and added that extension to Firefox, I then added Sony Catalyst Browse ( I use that program to archive my video footage from my AX 700). I then checked Vegas 18 again and the AI models were not showing up. I then uninstalled Catalyst Browse, and disabled the IDM extension in Firefox. I restarted my PC. Still no AI in VideoFx. I uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas a few times along with the deep learning models and now if I set Hardware Decoder to off, none of my Deep Learning Models show up.

I have been in contact with support they said they will have to work on it on their end. They said turn off Hardware decoder for now. I thought maybe the new build would help but now when my decoder is set to off it is not working.

Any suggestions? Thank You.

I had to do following after the latest Vegas Update:

- Uninstall Deep learning Models and install again

- Install Acoustic_Mirror_Impulse_Files

And after that it worked again.

BTW. I see the same as in your last screenshot and if dragged one to a videofile I can see the changes

I have the same problem. Ai vfx are not showing up. Colorize and Style Transfer are not in the lost of VFX. For me, this is new to build 373, those AI vfx were present in build 334 as I did some render test with them.

OK, I made some progress.

I reset Win 10 and on a fresh install I installed Vegas 18 (B. 373) and AI deep learning. I open Vegas and AI's are working. I then installed Sony Catalyst Browse (latest version) and opened Vegas and none of the AI Fx was there. I turned off AMD Decoder and still nothing.

I uninstalled Catalyst Browse restarted Windows, opened Vegas still no AI. I was determined to figure this out so I reset Windows 10 AGAIN. Installed Vegas and Deep Learning package and everything worked. I then installed all of my other apps, like Power DVD 20, Office, Web browser, email app, BBC PI, etc, and after every app was installed I fired up Vegas to make sure the AI package was working. So far so good. The Catalyst browse must have some kind of conflict with the DL Models.

Who knows I can start my computer tomorrow and it might not work again. Hopefully not. Thanks

I heard from the dev team, there is an updated AI deep learning model installer being released in the near future, so if you're unable to get your AI effects working, hang tight for that update to drop.

@Sassylola How many "tbb.dll" do you installed on your system? It might be the case that the wrong one was loaded.

@Sassylola @andyrpsmith @Illusion

  1. Have you tried a factory reset (holding Shift + Ctrl at start to delete cached files) of VEGAS Pro 18?
  2. Please check the path of the models (C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 18.0\models). Could you find in this path the file "style_model_01_v1.xml" and "style_model_01_v2.xml"?

If it looks like this... the plugin is working but is not able to find the models.

@VEGASPascal I did a factory reset of VP18. After that, still both AI VFX do not show in FX list. Both files are present in the directory, as well as many others. It goes up to model_17.

My AI VFX still is working in Vegas 18 B 373. This is because I have not installed Sony Catalyst Browse.

When I first discovered this problem I did do a factory reset of Vegas. Removed Vegas and reinstalled Vegas. It was not until I reset Windows and reinstalled Vegas that my AI FX was working. As soon as I installed Catalyst Browse and restarted Vegas my AI FX was gone. I uninstalled Catalyst Browse and that still did not help. I then reset Windows again ( doing a clean install ) then installed Vegas and all is working now.

I have not installed Catalyst Browse with the new AI installer. I will wait until my project is finished.

Both of the files in C Program files are installed in that folder.

In my screencapture was thus not the newest version I did not had yet on 30-10
