Just for FYI, just downloaded the Vegas Video2.0d
update, all 22.7MB, thank GOD for my DSL service.
It took about 4 blazing minutes. I transferred via
my USB zip drive the file from my home (internet )
computer to my DAW. The install went flawless.
I then spent about 30 minutes checking for stability.
I loaded and played back a 15min video project I
had completed last month with no problems. I
then had an impromtu audio recording session
(guitar & voice). On playback, I checked out various
plugins and then saved to a .veg and then a wave file.
So far so good. Hats off to SF for a smooth update.
This is great.. It's so nice now that the PAL external
monitoring works. It plays back perfectly, prividing
there's no effects or transitions, but they can just be
rendered to a new track. Only one problem, how do I record
all this back to DV?
Ok, so we have an update. As an NTSC user running 2.0b,
what are the enhancements which would make me want
to "update." I've spent many an hour troublshooting my
machine and VV. Have it working beautifully now, so, what
is in the update that would entice me to try to fix what
isn't preently broken?
you don't have to update of course. Among the fixes and
enhancements:
*Numerous DV/PAL bugs have been fixed.
*The Windows-imposed limit of 75 open .avi files in a
single Vegas project has been fixed.
*You can now adjust a synchronization offset to compensate
for video hardware latency.
*A bug that caused some Waves audio effects plug-ins to
crash during project load has been fixed.
Note that 2.0d requires Microsoft DirectX8- if you do
anything with DV, the new codec will make a BIG difference
in your picture quality.
